Empowering the country’s next future-builders
Over the years, Federal Land, Inc. has built itself to be one of the country’s leading and most renowned property developers. Known for its breath-taking developments, such as the Grand Hyatt Manila in the Bonifacio Global City and the Met Park development in Pasay City, the company has grown from a home builder to one that has built some of Metro Manila’s most iconic projects. Yet behind the scenes of Federal Land’s great successes are its employees and workers whose perseverance inspired the company’s many accolades. The greatest testament to this is the real estate developer’s latest wins at BusinessWorld’s recently concluded Best Places to Work 2025 awards on Dec. 2 at Dusit Thani Manila in Makati City. Among the merit awards given to Federal Land include receiving the Merit Awards for Best Place To Work Across All Organization Sizes, For Big Organizations, For Women, For Ethnic Minorities, For LGBTQ+, For the Disabled, For Ages 16-34, and For Employee Wellbeing.

“Receiving multiple Merit Awards for Best Places to Work is a meaningful affirmation of the culture we’ve been intentionally building at Federal Land. It reflects the values we live every day—integrity, professionalism, collaboration, and genuine care for our people. These awards validate our commitment to creating an environment where employees feel supported, empowered, and proud of the work they do,” Maryann Amamangpang, head of human resources at Federal Land, Inc., said.

Ms. Amamangpang added that the recognition is both an honor and a responsibility for their team, inspiring the company’s employees to continuously elevate practices and create growth pathways for all levels. From an operations standpoint, the award strengthens Federal Land’s belief that a positive work culture directly translates to higher performance and better service to our clients and partners.

“Ultimately, this recognition motivates us to uphold and enhance a workplace where our employees thrive, grow, and build meaningful careers—because our people remain our greatest asset,” Ms. Amamangpang said.

Contributing to this achievement are Federal Land’s several programs and initiatives that have been particularly effective in attracting, retaining, and developing young talent. It recognizes its younger employees’ desire for continuous growth, meaningful mentorship, and opportunities to build their careers early.

“We have mentorship and coaching programs that help clarify goals and development plans. We recently launched our RISE program, where we identify rank-and-file roles preparing for the Officer leadership track. Our League of Leaders sessions with our senior leaders are an avenue where they can share their career journey, and this is where we also encourage dialogue and transparency with our millennials and Gen Zers,” Ms. Amamangpang said.

Additionally, the human resources head mentioned that new initiatives for all employees have been introduced over the past year, designed to strengthen the company’s workplace culture and improve its overall employee experience.

“We launched mental health webinars and created a hotline where our first responders will be able to support the emotional well-being of our employees. We also organized more employee-led clubs and volunteer programs that promote connection and shared purpose,” Ms. Amamangpang said.

For learning and career growth improvements, the developer has a learning management system, with newly-launched learning pathways focused on digital skills and leadership readiness programs. Likewise, to improve policy and processes, Federal Land’s human resources system streamlined its HR processes, including onboarding, performance reviews, and learning requests, to make them more employee-friendly.

Leadership at Federal Land plays a central role in shaping this culture, which has led to recognition as one of the Best Places to Work. Ms. Amamangpang shared that its board’s commitment is reflected in how they lead, make decisions, and create an environment where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered.

“Leaders consistently communicate a clear direction for the organization while ensuring that employee well-being and development remain at the center of our strategy,” she said. “Our leadership team allocates resources to continuous learning, leadership development programs, and career advancement opportunities, and high potential employees are identified early and given exposure, training, and mentorship.”

To ensure that it remains a top employer in the years ahead, Federal Land strengthens its focus on building a sustainable, future-ready workplace that continues to value our people, strengthen our culture, and support long-term growth.

“We are focused on digital upskilling, technical training, and cross-functional learning to prepare employees for evolving industry demands. We are also implementing clearer career pathways and of fering more transparency in internal opportunities and using data-driven talent insights to support employee growth and development plans,” Ms. Amamangpang concluded.
