Marco Polo Plaza Cebu Joins World Bamboo Day
Last September 23, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu joined Brgy. Ga-as, Balamban Cebu and other private sectors in celebrating World Bamboo Day. The Volunteers assembled at Marco Polo Plaza gates as early as 4:30 in the morning. With the support of the military and police trainees, more than two hundred people participated in a Bamboo Planting activity along Cebu Transcental Highway going to Mt. Manunggal trail. The advocates shed along the highway stretch to the mountain trail.
Fr. Vic Labao, SJ is the founder of Kabilin Nature Farms and Bamboo Center, whose environmental advocacy is focused on leaving a legacy to our future generations, that they may be able to take care of our trees and lands better than we do now. He aims to educate people on the benefits of bambook trees and how it can minimize the landslides in the Balamban area, and hopefully then the rest of the Philippines. We can learn more about their bamboo activities and training workshops on www.kabilinbamboo.com
Marco Polo Plaza Cebu is thrilled for the rest CSR activities lined up until the end of year 2018. To partner with Marco Polo Plaza Cebu for future CSR Activities, please email laedee.gonzales@marcopolohotels.com. For other inquiries, you may call (+632) 253-1111.
