Federal Land Inc.’s Sunshine Fort adds Japanese touch to BGC

MANILA, Philippines — Federal Land, Inc., one of the country’s leading real estate developers, is reshaping the skyline of BGC North with its newest development, the Sunshine Fort — a joint venture with Japan’s leader in residential developments, Nomura Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., and the world’s foremost retail service group, Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd,
“Today is a momentous occasion as we officially welcome Nomura Real Estate and Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings to the GT Capital family,” Federal Land, Inc. Chairman Alfred V. Ty said during the announcement ceremony. “We are glad that they are part of Federal Land, Inc.’s commitment to invest in the country and add value to the lives of Filipinos.”
GT Capital Holdings is a listed major Philippine conglomerate that has market-leading businesses in banking, property development, infrastructure and utilities, automotive assembly, importation, and many others. Federal Land, Inc. is one of GT Capital Holdings’ property arms.
Touted to be the first of its kind in the Philippines, Sunshine Fort will rise within Federal Land, Inc.’s 10-hectare Grand Central Park development in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig. Through the jointly developed USD 400-million Japanese-inspired residential and retail complex, various Japanese brands and goods will be brought in for the Philippine market to experience and enjoy.
Nomura Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. President Seiichi Miyajima said that the company’s venture into the Philippine market is a result of the strong history of friendship between the two countries.
“This project is remarkable to us since this is the first time that we will integrate Japanese concepts of project planning, technology and knowledge to the Philippine market,” Miyajima added. “We are strongly prepared to pursue business in the Philippines, which has shown the strongest growth in Southeast Asia.”
Meanwhile, Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd. former Chairman and current Senior Advisor Kunio Ishizuka said that they will try their best to excite and move every customer in the Philippines and help Federal Land, Inc. enhance the lifestyle of Filipinos by introducing Japanese quality and style. Federal Land, Inc. President Pascual M. Garcia III said that the company deeply appreciates having been chosen as a worthy partner in this endeavour.
“Through this partnership, we are bringing in the Japanese tradition of excellence, innovation, and artistry to Filipinos,” Garcia added. “We aim to provide an enhanced lifestyle by allowing Filipinos to experience Japanese efficiency, functionality, and style through Sunshine Fort.”
The ceremony was attended by GT Capital Group Chairman George SK Ty, and other key officials from Federal Land, Nomura Real Estate and Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings. Government dignitaries Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, and Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea were also present.
